Why didn't you do that? Seems alot easier for you to get those parts than someone here in the states -- especially in the midwest. Rovers aren't super-common here. When used parts are available they are typically pretty expensive. In my area I see Rovers for sale frequently with blown engines. Don't see engines for sale much though. Honestly the 215/300 GM engines are probably easier to find but still not usually cheap. I like the cool/different factor but most would spend less on a more powerful mainstream engine. I'd probably sooner consider a nailhead. Just as different but much more power for the money and time investment.
BTW, your LPG project is cool.

thanks, the reason i didnt do it is because i was naive at the time. whe'd had 3 short block 3.5 rovers v8's laying and a jaguar xjs v12. but i thought the 3.5 was lame at the time. because they where not that big.
but after i did a rebuilt on one of the 3.5's i thought different about them. all the parts inside fit like a glove and the castings are very good. i also discovered that the 1980-1985 range rovers had the 727 torqueflite wich can be adapted to a gbody i think. and with an auto 4 speed ZF overdrive and EFI u could get 25 mpg highway or at least 22 mpg.
and not to mention the rover v8 loves LPG.
but i already had the 350 in it at the time. if i used a rover v8 i (my dad most of all) would have saved €10.000

SO YES, I AM RETARDUD

It's an awesome idea, but like DRIVEN said, it would be harder to pull off in the states. And where I live, I can hardly find parts for common engines. 😳

P.S. Speaking of TVR,
Griffith 500.
Seems like an awesome little car and I'd love to drive one.

Not if they're old plastic. That's for sure. I'd hate to spend good money on a discontinued GM part just to have it break because it's old and brittle.

307Regal - You should visit Kniola's automotive Michigan City on Hitchcock Rd (first left after the Ohio St bakery heading W on highway 20 then 2 blocks on the left just before the scrap yard it's a blue steel building w/ small sign above white door)

He's got 327's and 350's lined up in a row and used/new MSD boxes soon as you walk in + 5-6 Trans in various states lined up first thing on the way in the door. Whatever the guy doesn't have he can get it for you trust me. He has trouble keeping Oldsmobile stuff stocked it seems, but I see all the other typical GM stuff coming through there every time I go. Also, if you have an obscure part he will sell it for you on consignment +++

Actually, I got my Holley carb from him. (the one I rebuilt and put on my car)
It seems like I see Jack at swap meets all the time. I haven't even thought of checking his shop lately. Thanks for the reminder.
