Quite honestly I saw no difference between straight duals and the Xpipes (1/8th and 1/4 performance)
If the design permited it on our cars, the old school straight lake pipes could of been the way to go. The older guys that taught me how to work on cars in the late '80's always went on about the less bends the better & no slip joints if you can help it. I never really heard anything about any type of cross over until the 5.0. Mustangs. I know Engine Masters did an exhaust comparison but one on a G with all three set ups might be able answer this.
I was under the impression that lake pipes mounted on the outside of the rockers or frame which would basically require two 90 degree bends per side just to get to them.If the design permitted it on our cars, the old school straight lake pipes could of been the way to go. From what I learned from those older guys was they are just straight pipes that ran with no bends from the headers to the rear.I was under the impression that lake pipes mounted on the outside of the rockers or frame which would basically require two 90 degree bends per side just to get to them.
how do the race pros sound? I'm quite interested in those with the side Exit pipes system. I wanna keep it kind of low key looks wise.... Almost sleeper like lol I'm not worried about people hearing it, just don't want it looking fastOriginally 2.5" hpipe and Dynomax turbo's, now with Xpipe and racepro's. Pitch is definitely higher, driving is about the same, and WOT it really opens up. I happened to tour Texas Motor speedway, there are Xpipes on their cars, that was enough for me.
