Which transmission??

What do you guys recommend for a transmission behind a 383 with approx. 450-500 HP. A TH-350 or a 200r4? was gonna go with a 350, but have an option to trade for a 200r4. Thoughts? Info> all is appreciated. Car is going to a street car, used for shows, cruising around, getting attention and occasional race i am sure. No strip use, just a toy. Thanks fellas!!

If I could build either one I would go with the 200R4, having overdrive is a major plus for a car you actually want to drive.

even if you are choosing a 2004-r.. Although depending on things like budget and sich another could be a gearvendors overdrive box behind a stout Th350.
or a 4l80 or anything really.. im not familiar with the 200 as much.. however more common usually means moar cheap, id go to a th350 is because parts are available everywhere and a built or at least beefier one isnt exactly big money these days. That being said personaly im also going 4l80 because i got one for nothing from an express van with a 350.

Important to some, not me things like numbers that match or things that are "Correct" Mean keeping factory driveshafts as options etc... i dont belive in this.
Then again neither does dodge, the drag pack demons have a th400
the 4l80/4l80e is a 4spd th400, go ahead and let that marinate.

Putting a non overdrive trans in a street car nowadays would be like switching back to dial up internet.
