By tuning for WOT works great for power, but for a street vehicle you need to tune the three main areas of the engines life. Idle, Cruise, WOT. My guess is your idle setting is off which is why it smells. There also is no "magic" number only a optimal guideline that must be adjusted up or down depending on engine, cam, temp, altitude, gas mixture. It could also be your timing which plays a big role in the burn quality in the cylinders.
Have you pulled your plugs to look at the color?

Yep, and idle mixture is the most difficult mixture to get right but it is the basis fuel adjustment that affects the other adjustments.
