So i blew up my 442 but still have it.

BUT i also now have an 85 olds cutlass supreme brougham coupe. I plan on customizing it inside and out . So i am a sucker for 5 spoke wheels and found a good deal on a set to replace my steel wheels and hubcaps. They are 16 by 8 with a 4.75" backspacing. They guy says they came off of an 80s camaro. WILL THEY FIT??

Where are you thinking you will have clearance issues? I run 17x9.5 rears with 5" bs no clearance issues, but it's tight. Fronts are 17x8 with 4.5" bs and plenty of room.

on my 88 i used 4" backset on 16x8 bassett imca rims, and needed 1/4" spacer to get 1/2" frame clearance, and where the back of the tire was pretty close to frame, so bumped it in about 1/2".... i have big tires 295/50r15 mickey thompson street tires on the rear. there is a lot of bulge with these tires....... i ran a 3" setback on the front, that way my tires (255/60r15) didn't rub the wheel well... but when i go to the 225/50r15 in the front i might need to go to 4" setback

I have a set of S10 Blazer ZQ8 rims on my Malibu. These are basically a set of four IROC front rims. 16x8 with a 4" backspacing. No clearance issues, even with a 255-50-16 Corvette tire.
What you have, I think, are IROC rear rims. Twenty years ago, I tried one of those and ran into the frame in the rear and the fender liner in the front. You may need a 3/4" spacer (?) to use them.
