Windshield, beating a dead horse

I've had the same window guy for 10 years, never a problem, always cleans, primes, and uses 3m poly, never an issue. Have seen and heard bad news from satellite regarding mostly installation faults, but also flawed glass. I'd hire a private windshield installer any day.

Yes nothing like looking through new glass on an 30+ year old car. I had mine done about a year ago and hired a local guy to do it right in my own garage. The window is flawed in one place on the passenger side so don't really have to look at it while driving. The only thing he did wrong was destroy the original VIN plate with his chiseler while trying to remove the old window. I was not happy, but damage was done. In my haste I broke out the Brother P-Touch, made the redneck plate and stuck it where the old one was. To my surprise it has not faded and does not look to bad. oh yea saved $80 off the SafeLite price and it is original 30 year glass that was sitting in some warehouse somewhere in Northern Virginia. The glass guy said that the warehouse made a comment about it sitting for a long time. Over all much better then the water spotted scratched glass that was in the car when she found me. Good luck and don't settle for a half *ss product.
