Straight out of the 85 Olds CSM:
Adjustment
If the wiper arms and blades were in the correct adjustment prior to wiper arm removal, adjustment should not be required. However, if adjustment is required, it can be performed as follows:
1. Raise the hood to gain access to wiper arms.
2. Remove the right arm and blade assembly.
NOTICE: To prevent damage to washer nozzles, temporarily remove retaining scres and move nozzles out of the way.
3. Loosen (do not remove) the transmission drive link-to-motor crank arm attaching nuts.
4. Rotate the left arm assembly on G styles and both arm assemblies on B, and E styles to a position 25 mm (1") below the blade ramp stops.
5. Tighten the attaching nuts on the transmission drive link(s) to motor crank arm 6 to 8 N-m (4 to 6 lbs. ft.).
6. On G styles, position the right arm and blade assembly 25mm (1") below the blade ramp stop and install arm assembly to transmission shaft.
