It took some pressure with a few 12" bar clamps and a crow bar. I kind of worked it in the center section from side to side until I liked how it looked. The extra time and effort paid off.
I still need to shorten the tailgate support cables a wee bit. I may just make a set if I can find the ends..and purchase some plastic coated cable...similar to steering cable for a runabout.

Anything doing with yours? I guess it's been too cold to do much on it. It's 25 degrees here this morning...brrrr! I'm not used to it anymore. Happy New Year buddy!

Well.....I started rebuilding the stock carb 2mos ago and it sits in pieces on a table in the garage. 🙁 and the bu sits in the driveway for now.
To many f*&kin unfinished projects! gotta clean out the garage everytime i wanna do something.
2 other vehicles in line before it. have to change the speakers in the wifes jeep, Drop the leaky gas tank on the suburban (42gal :shock: ) so I can fix the leak or replace it then sell it. Gotta pull the motor out of the boat again might need a freshin up got water in the cylinders again. and... of coarse the the mile long list of sh*t to do on the house.
Wish I didnt have to work everyday, I'd have so much more time to do these things..
But I'm not giving up... Never!
Good to see you and other people getting sh*t done on here though. Maybe it'll give me the mojo to get something done..

Just wanted to add a few more pics. I spent the last few days narrowing and tucking my front bumper to match the rear bumper.
No more fillers to worry about. I will also replace the '79 header panel with an '81 unit. I think they look better.
More pics to come.

Here's what the front used to look like: The cowl induction hood will most likely be going back on.
