Looking good man, are you a bodyman or just patient? You've got me wanting to do the same thing to mine! Keep up the good work
Thank you! I'm not a bodyman by trade, just a hobbiest that enjoys doing this stuff...sometimes...
I do feel a sense of satisfaction when I'm able to achieve a task to my liking.

Thanks Mark!
I appreciate your words of encouragement.

no problem man. we all need encouragement from time to time lol. Always good to give credit where its due. i thought about narrowing my bumpers but that would involve getting them rechromed because im not a huge fan of a painted bumper. but thats just me.

You're absolutely right, my friend. I'd love to have the bumpers rechromed, but honestly, it's not in the budget. However, I was considering ' chrome paint'. I know it sounds cheesy, but it looks pretty good from what I've seen online. I think if I saw something done up close and in person, that would be the convincing factor.
Naturally guys just paint the bumpers. I'm thinking of either chrome paint, or painting them silver instead of body color.
I'm not really a huge fan of body colored bumpers..but I'll have to see.
I'd like to keep the car with an old school theme. Although it will have a touch of old and new styles. Like losing the sport mirrors in place of mid '60's Chevy mirrors, steel wheels with dog dish caps, no airdam or rear air deflector, etc.

lookin good, keep up the great work Jack! i prefer the 78-79 nose over the 81, id like to find one to replace my 80 nose before i paint it. a buddy of mine had the bumpers on his 67 cougar powder coated argent silver. wasnt a show car or anything but looked pretty damn good for a drag car.

How are you making out with yours? Hmmm...I haven't thought of having the bumpers powdercoated ...good suggestion.
I have thought about Argent Silver on mine.
Here's where I saw it done before. The car isn't my taste, though. He also molded the bumpers into the body.

Just wanted to add a few more pics. I spent the last few days narrowing and tucking my front bumper to match the rear bumper.
No more fillers to worry about. I will also replace the '79 header panel with an '81 unit. I think they look better.
More pics to come.

Here's what the front used to look like: The cowl induction hood will most likely be going back on.

That new bumper came out great, it looks like how it should have been from the factory. Your'e old picture makes the bumper look like an added on accessory.

Thanks man! It does make it look like an after thought, doesn't it? This is something I've been wanting to do for many years
I finally got up the balls and time to do it, and I don't regret it.
