if you tap off the tail lite wiring the 3rd brake light will blink if you have your turn signal on..
Ahhh...good point, Steve.
Looks like I'll have to tap off of the brakelight switch itself. I wanted to eliminate a long wiring run. Well, I still have to wire up my rear hatch electric activator. I guess I could hit two birds with one stone, so to speak. Both wires would probably be routed in the same path.

I wonder if anyone had used John Deere Blitz Black under the hood, fenders, etc? I'm considering it. There is a hardener available for it as well.
iv got the john deere blitz black under my hood in im also going to paint the car with it here in the next few week

Definitely post some pics of the finished product.
BTW, How does it look under the hood?

I was gonna go with the blitz black on my wagon I got a gallon of it from the local john deere dealer for my 83 malibu wagon but never got around to spraying it before I sold it. Thanks man!
The Blitz Black would look cool, don't get me wrong. But once it's on there it might be b*tch to strip if you wanted to paint it with automotive paint. In other words, with the hardener it will dry like a rock.
You can also get the paint and hardener at a Tractor Supply store. It's a Valspar product.

BTW, good score on the stick shift wagon. It looks like a nice straight, original car.

I think tahoe' are similar. I ran a wire from the brake light switch, like in the later monte's.

Jim,
That's makes sense, since a Tahoe is basically a shortened Suburban.
Lately I was combing the junkyard looking for moulding strips to replace my weathered out strips. As Blake suggested, I checked out a few B-body cars for their windshield moulding strips. Most of them were trashed as well. I actually managed to find one good strip. I see that they will in fact do the job. If I can only find a few more that haven't been dried out by the sun, I'd be in like Flynn.
I'm on the look out for a set of 15 x 7 Caprice (5 x 4 3/4) steelies. Would you know where I can find a list of the codes? I know they're located by the valve stem hole and that they were made by Kelsey-Hayes.
I've decided to go with steelies and dog dish caps. Kinda old school, sleeper look.
I've seen some at the yard, but I think most of them might be 15 x 6's. I can hardly see the codes on them.
Sorry man, I took off on a tangent.

WoW!! 😀
Bumper looks freaking awesome Jack. You obviously put the time into it and it shows.
Not quite sure how you bent the bumper to follow the bottom of the tailgate though.
Keep up the good work, looks great!

Thanks Dave!
It took some pressure with a few 12" bar clamps and a crow bar. I kind of worked it in the center section from side to side until I liked how it looked. The extra time and effort paid off.
I still need to shorten the tailgate support cables a wee bit. I may just make a set if I can find the ends..and purchase some plastic coated cable...similar to steering cable for a runabout.

Anything doing with yours? I guess it's been too cold to do much on it. It's 25 degrees here this morning...brrrr! I'm not used to it anymore. Happy New Year buddy!

Looks great Jack...nice work!

25* huh...I could be working on my ride...it's 36* here right now...oh yeah we've got the white stuff on the ground though.. ..😢

Thanks Kevin!
Yeah, cold but no white stuff..thank goodness! Fortunately, it's just temporary and will warm up in a day or so....yippeee!
