It must be good to have your father and brother helping you Jared. I know that you wanted to be further along in your progress, but I think you've done really well. Hang in there.
Jared, I was more than happy to be able to help out.
You make it seem like I went over and above when in reality it was no big deal. I felt bad in supplying you with a broken part, so I tried to make up for it by cleaning up the rest of the parts and fasteners a bit for ya. Save you some of the grunt work, especially when I’ve got everything readily available here to make it happen easily. I know what it’s like not having a place of your own to be able to do the things you want.
It was merely my small contribution to your already amazing build, and I’m proud to have been but a tiny part of it.
It looks like you were able to make great use of that piece despite it being broken, you guys did an excellent repair that no one other than you will likely ever know about. My hat is off to you my friend,

It’s great finally seeing the drivetrain in place, it looks right at home. Yeah, some small hiccups along the way, but I have zero doubt you’ll conquer and overcome. Besides, buckets will seem so much sportier in there, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed that you had to go that route.

looking great Jared! I know how it feels getting to a landmark point in a project, like you accomplished. take a step back, take a deep breath, enjoy an adult beverage or two, and enjoy the victory!
Another exhausting update! I really appreciate all the documentation in this thread. I know how easy it is to just get into the work groove and forget all about taking pics. Then, sitting down to write it up is another chore on top of that. Don't ever think we aren't paying attention.
The GP is really coming together and by all indications is going to be a really fun head turner by summer time. Keep up the great work!

I went to bead and woke up to a awsome update from you. You have to be getting excited I know I am for you. If you lived a little closer to me. I have a nice set of Grand Prix high back bucket seats in red you can have.
Thanks man. I suppose an S10 tailhousing would make the bench seat work but the plan always was to go with the buckets so it's just going to happen sooner rather than later.

Thanks! It feels great. It's been a hell of a week. I've gone from thinking about selling the car to get out from under it a few months ago to this. My enthusiasm for the project is back 100%.
Thanks Jeff. I set a pretty ambitious goal so I'm not crushed that I didn't meet it. I'm actually pretty thrilled with how much got done over the last week. I think this is the first time in my life that I worked on my project exclusively for this amount of time. It was really gratifying.
Donovan, you did go above and beyond and I wanted to give you the recognition you deserved for it. I sincerely appreciate the help. Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, the buckets were the plan all along. I've just been working hard to limit the scope of the project to get the car back on the road so I can enjoy it and keep my enthusiasm up.

Thanks for the kind words. I was worried that the post was too long to be interesting. That's the trouble with getting behind and having several day's progress to document. It does take time, as you know, to document the work and I'm trying to put some attention to detail in it. That fact that it is being enjoyed and appreciated really makes it worth it so I appreciate your remarks. I am hoping to have the car on the road before the weather turns hot here. We'll see.

It really takes some time to do an update when you are covering three day's worth of work but at least it made for a good update. Thanks for the offer on the seats but I've got a set of buckets I bought a few years ago. My car came from the Dubuque area so it's a small world. Stay warm up there.

Yesterday was a day of rest and relaxation. Today I went over to the storage and got the front seat out of the car. It wasn't that fun pulling a power seat with no power for it but I got it done and vacuumed out the car. It will likely be a very busy week at work next week since I was on vacation all last week but it was worth it. When I get back over to the storage I'll work towards peeling the carpet back and cutting the new hole for the shifter for the T5. Then I'll work on closing up the butcher job of a hole the previous owner cut in the floor for the Saginaw. Until then, stay warm guys. Especially you guys up north....
Carpets look real clean. As much as I like the pillow top I much prefer the GP buckets and console. Pontiac always seemed to be the "sportiest" setup of all the gbody interiors and the easiest to re-configure to aftermarket needs. Or were your thoughts to run buckets and no console ?
