Does any body know which coolant/antifreeze works best? I have a 1979 cutlass supreme, the cap on the coolant over flow was missing I just put a new one on. I want to flush the old coolant that was in there not sure if different cars need different coolant. Thanks

For $3 more buy the gallon of concentrate and mix your own @ 50/50 with H2O.
2 gallons for $14.99 vs one gallon @ $11.99...…….
If you're flushing the entire system you'll need more than a gallon anyways.

Yeah i think you're supposed to use distilled water when you mix it from concentrate. Which is why i opt for the 50/50 pre-diluted. Plus if i leave one in my car for emergencies i don't have to worry about mixing it. Your call,

I would use regular water. Distilled water is unstable and missing ions. It pulls the ions from the metal in the cooling system to become stable.

I have used Deionized water lately, mixed with Antifreeze for a bit better than 50/50. Up here, the 50/50 mix is usually slightly less than advertised and borderline as we have some temps lower than -40C here.
