On a trip that long I would take it easy. I have 4.11's in my cutlass, I drive mine a bunch more than 2000 a year. My rear end gets pretty hot after a bunch of driving around at 60 mph and then in town driving.
So I have recently acquired a 78 Regal, This thing has a massive cowl hood. I believe it is 6 inches, The height doesn't bother me as much as the fact that you can open it about half way before it hits the windshield!

When I was 15 in '93 I got a 1975 Plymouth Duster with my detasseling money... Many cars later around '99 maybe I got my first g-body. A blue '85 Cutlass with t-tops and floor shifter.

They all look to be lined up. After I checked with a mirror I made a little tool pretty much the same diameter of the holes to stick in them all.
