Cool ad, the flying part might be more believable if it had a turbo.

Responsive 3.8 V6😂🤣😅😂🤣😅
Too what a bunch of nitrous?

In 1982 gm was building fbodies with the 2.5l iron duke. Comparatively, the 3.8 felt like a rocketship.

Heck, even the s10 or anything else with those motors gave a new meaning to underpowered.

Realistically speaking, automakers have always exaggerated their claims such as calling sedans "sports" (even though they are by no means sports cars of the corvette/miata/insert your favorite 2 door actual sports car here) or calling those glorified station wagons "sport utility vehicles" - seriously, try fording a river or driving up a shale hill in one of those the way 1st or 2nd Gen broncos/blazers/scouts would and did.

Meh. It fit the definition of the day as much as anything else did.

I agree and sadly the 3.8 wasn't the worst engine option, cars were pretty bad performance wise in those years. Styling wise, these cars are like a work of art compared to most new vehicles, especially these SUV/CUV styled by the blind. Most are beyond ugly and I seriously would not drive them even if free. I seriously might get it put on trailer to trade it in🙂. Neat ad.

About as aerodynamic as a Concorde...with the nose dropped for takeoff and landing. The aircraft in the ad looked kind of sad about the comparison....
