Been looking at ECM mounting options, and the brackets were ranging from $20-40 shipped new. I fell down the rabbit hole last night to remember the 2000's Blazer used the same ECM and bracket. Soooo, off to the junkyard earlier, and a few minutes later walked out with this for $5.60!!!! It's soaking in soapy water to get cleaned up, then need to make an adapter plate to mount it to the existing MSD 6AL mounts on the inside of firewall.

Finally finished cleaning, prepping, and painting the '84 El Camino frame that I'm going to swap under my '87. The whole frame was steam cleaned and I used wire wheels on air and electric grinders to get down to bare metal before applying DupliColor Rust Corrosion Primer and Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic paint.

Now comes the enjoyable part...installing the SC&C front suspension parts. Upper and lower A arms are from SPC. I also plan to do the Blazer brake upgrade. The brake upgrade parts are from a 2000 2WD Blazer; spindles, axle bearings, calipers, and rotors are visible in the stack of parts to the right.
