So, not exactly today but, since the weather forcast for this week was good i took a week off to work on the Regal. First i replaced 3/4 of my floor with new Goodmark pans. Then installed the new carpet thats been sitting in my basement for over a year and installed the recovered seats. Installed the new shift console and modified it and the shifter top plate for my Hurst V-matic. Yesterday, cut off the old exhaust and installed the new Pypes Race Pro system. Im very impressed with it. Fits very well and was pretty easy to do. Love the new exhaust note over the old turbo mufflers. Still have a few things to do, seam seal the underside of the floor, replace the drivers window regulator, touch up a few things on the interior. Gonna swap in the 8.5 rear later as I still have to pick up a few things for that. I'll post some pics soon as i didnt take any yet. lol

Ordered 9" rear end today with 370 gears and disc brakes. Received liquid HVC line by UPS today so can get AC running. Spent $700.00 on dentist yesterday so figured I needed to order rear end ASAP

Bought an intake from summit, arrived today, going for an install this weekend...generally swore at it while disassembling it....daydreamt about it being back on the road again....

Looked for 4 hours on various sites and did not find what I deem to be the cooliest shifter ever installed in a G body from factory:

Lightning rods be damned! This thing is WAY cooler.

I have the GN rear, T Wheels, with center caps, I think this will be the 3rd "holy grail" g body part find for me. Wish they remade these.

Those shifters also came in the GTO and LeMans. I had one years ago. Dont remember what happened to it. Probably got scrapped. Theres several of them on Ebay. I know the top plate is different but i believe the shifter itself is the same. IIRC, the mount brackets unbolt and can be changed.

The shifters may be the same, but afaik that plate was 78/79 specific.
