Fiddled with taillight wiring.
I hate to say it, but our G- body tail lights are superior to the design GM used in the 2000's. They went to that bulb with the tiny fine wires that overheat the socket and melt it. I have the tickets to prove it. This is a situation where LED lights are by far the smartest design.

The 1978-81 Trans Am disc brakes used that for the parking brake too. That is why I am using one for my 1968 Firebird project. Our 2012 Jeep Liberty has that drum-in-the-hat set-up. Horrible. One side wore a trench so deep I had to cut the rotor off to service it. Is that a Jeep Cherokee XJ in your avatar? Then you know all about drum brake torture.
That's why I went with LT1 Fbody rear disc brakes on my SS. No internal shoe.

Obs and nbs Chevy tails are the bane of my existence. If it wasn't the copd and clogged arteries the tail lights would've done my grandpa in first.

I'm not really a detailer and cleaning cars is not my thing at all, but I've been wanting to attempt to improve the tired paint on the 2006 Lacrosse my grandfather left to me. The paint still had shine to it, but it was very scratched and had some heavy acid rain damage on the top surfaces. Most areas looked like this-

So earlier in the week, I washed and clayed it, pulled it in the garage and wetsanded the roof, hood and top of the decklid with 3000 Trizact. I followed up by DA polishing with Meguiars M105, M205, and then Chemical Guys P4, each on a progressively finer polishing pad. After all of that, I waxed with Collinite 845. The result isn't 100% perfect, but it is significantly better.

I also did the headlights. I've polished them before, but I didn't clearcoat, so they became hazy again very fast. They have some crazing going on so they'll never be perfect, but this time I used a Cerakote Headlight kit with a clearcoat and the clear definitely makes the crazing much less noticeable. Hopefully it'll protect them and keep the haziness away for a while too.

I believe the Cadillac Seville used those same rear calipers. I also know we never ever found one in a junkyard to pick off. I actually got all my sets from Trans Ams. 1709959158002.jpeg

The Seville are similar but not the same. We bought a Seville rear for the brakes when wanting to convert my brother's 78 Z28 to rear disc. They are the same style but don't interchange.
