Its back!



Ooh....goody! Ill have some work to do!

Its out and ready to be married back to the trans.



It fought me a little, but its out. Think im done for the night. Put them together tomorrow and put them back in. Will clean some of the engine bay up first.

Really should wash it.

Ill glass it to fix it since the engine is out.

Oooohh! Fiberglass is fun!



But lesson learned! Dont use dollar store solo cups to mix in!



Ill pick up some actual paint mixing cups for the next go round. And i need to mix less for my little pieces.



For my first time, i think its ok. Thats just one application. Not sure how many layers of fiberglass is sufficient. I wont be able to do anymore layers till tomorrow evening when i get legit cups to mix in.



Got the engine and trans back together. Just got to put the converter bolts in. It wont go back in till im done with the hvac box though.

Put the converter bolts in. Patched the hvac box. Put the engine and trans back in the car. Took my time with the harness so i wouldnt miss a connector that would haunt me later. Figured out my column shifter to the trans. Made a metal bracket to connect the shift cable to the column. Have to put the driveshaft back in. Then put fluids back in it. Oh and the hood back on. Have to tidy up some wires from the engine removal.

It should then be ready for startup and a short test drive to shake things down.

Trying not to get in a big rush and miss something dumb.

So the previous post was for accomplishing my task of finnishing the car.



Did some laps in my yard. Was able to just hit second gear before i ran out of room. I work afternoon all week. Hopefully the weather is nice next weekend. I want to get it somewhere that i can get some speed with it and feel it shift gears.

Man i forget how much room is actually in my garage. Ill put the car back under the house for the week.
