So, the SLK looks to have taken a hard whack:
The part that's concerning is the trunk gaps:
Maybe hard to tell but the left side has a MUCH bigger gap than the right, and the decklid sits up higher in the air there as well.
Not a good sign on a power retracting hardtop. Cars only got 60-someodd thousand on it, and, was a very limited production color (only made a couple hundred over the years it was offered.
Tomorrow the bumper cover will come off and tell a bit more to the story, but, these cars didn't have your traditional impact bar on pedestals with a honeycomb. It's just a thin composition plastic backer and straight to the tailpan:

So I'm not expecting the best news there. So far this summer i've lost that 82GN, the wife absconded with the 496 yukon, then lost the 78 c10, 14 mustang gt, and 16 mustang v6 to the storms, and, now the slk isn't looking promising....
That's almost half the fleet gone within what, 4 months? Somethings gotta give
