beautiful day here today, so i drove the 86 around for a bit, then loaded it on the trailor for the trip to Atco raceway bright and early... in 4 hours. cant wait to see how she does. just wish it was going to be a little cooler for that perfect horsepower weather!

I am looking to buy an electric speedometer for my 86 monte SS.. i hear that there is some sort of adapter or sending unit that converts the cable to the electronic set up needed.. does any have this or know anything about this? thanks!

got the new lug studs in and the slicks slide on like a dream with my 1/2" wheel spacers. a nice set of 28/12.0/15 on te rear now waiting for the track monday

had custom 1/2" wheels spacers made for the rears rather than spending $70 a pair, only to find out that i need longer lug studs now. just a small setback, but i cant wait to go to the track on monday!

do you know the length off hand? and oddly enough, on the passenger side, it seems that i have a good amount of thread on the studs to work well with a spacer. but i just need to do some further R&D in the garage to figure how thick of a spacer i would need

also, i just looked on glowshifts' website, if the speedo will work for me, i dont mind buying the tach along with that just to match, then i just have to sell the one i have now. now big deal

how do you get it calibrated? and are those gauges with the link attached mechanical, or electrical? because i dont beleive when i had my trans build i had the electric speedo control put in my 700r4. i think even with just one of those gauges it would look pretty cool but a little out of place...

is it possible to change JUST the speedometer in a 1986 Monte SS? i want to change the stock 85MPH to one from a different monte.. preferably one of the 115's or ive seen 150's from some gbody malibus. and tips/advice would be much appreciated. THANKS!

got a set of used M/T ET street slicks from a buddy the other day, got them mounted&balanced on a set of stock monte SS rims i had layin in the garage. it turns out theyre just slighty wider in the side wall area, and rubs on the frame rail on the passenger side only. greatt. seems like that...

in my car all i had to do was remove the front cover of the driverside dash, which is like 6 or 8 screws, and just simply pull the bulb. good luck though

the easiest way id say to do so(also did this in my monte, not sure how your dash cluster is set up...) i i just took my dash apart and took out the lights that lit up that i didnt want too.
