Question About Thermostat Housing for a 1983 Regal W/3.8

Tried Rockauto and a bunch of other places, turns out my car is a 1983 but the Tstat housing is from a 1981. I don't know the history of the car so not sure if the motor has been changed and they pulled it from an earlier car. Well lets say until the new housing shows up I believe the tstat...

Question About Thermostat Housing for a 1983 Regal W/3.8

Has anyone run into a problem finding a thermostat housing/water outlet for the 3.8? Local parts stores list two different ones and neither are what came on my car. The closest part I have found that looks like mine is listed for the 4.3. Any Help is greatly appreciated.

Do bench seat cars have console mounts?

No only cars that came with a console will have the mounts for a console. The seat mounts for a split bench and bucket seat car are the same though. My regal had the 60/40 split bench and I changed it out to monte carlo SS bucket seats.

    Dropped spindles roter question

I believe you need rotors for 84 to 87 g body, the safe bet would be to use them for an 87 g body. The early cars had a smaller spindle stub and somewhere between 80 to 83 they changed twice I believe. Below is from this thread...

Bi+C# Thread for the nit-picky old men

Ok I have to throw in the craigslist award and it goes to the word "bumber". Case in point ad copied from craigslist; I have for sale a very strong running 2007 Dodge Dually 3500 with the much loved 6 speed manual transmission. It has like new tires and wheels that really set this truck off...

    holley vs q-jet

There should be crush washers on the fitting in the carb not teflon tape. Fuel will eat teflon tape, only other thing you can use is a liquid thread sealer design for fuel systems.

Need transmission lines for Th 350 ????

You can get replacement lines from http://www.inlinetube.com , http://www.classictube.com , just to name a couple. Your only problem is they are direct factory replacements, I know of no company making lines to add an additional cooler. You can make your own lines, auto parts stores sell steel...

    jeep steering column

It is not as cheap a route as putting the jeep shaft in but if you can provide the sizes of the splines on the column and the steering box, flaming river sells the u joints and a collapsible shaft that so you can build your own. I talked to them about this a few years ago for a project of mine...

Grand National, GNX and T-Type Are Returning to Buick

Great idea wrong implementation, look at the rear view picture it looks exactly like a BMW. I see the cadillac styling cues but I see more BMW in it than anything else.

    autometer tach?

Its not hard but it does need to be made out of a thicker metal, or it will vibrate really bad. I think i used 1/8 inch plate but could be wrong. I do believe the one made by GNS is even thicker, the only thing I noticed on mine is it makes the gauge surround not sit flat anymore. But it was a...

    autometer tach?

I wish I took a picture of the mount I made but it is very close to the one in that link. I am bad at taking pictures of anything, let alone any work I do to my car. There are no visible holes even when the mount is removed, I would recommend either making one or buying one from the link I posted.

    autometer tach?

This is the tach in my regal, It has been in multiple vehicles and I have never had a problem with it. It has yet to be hooked up in the regal though, only required one new hole behind the gauge surround and used two existing holes for the gauge surround to mount it with a bracket I made that...

    What are these?

These are what the S10 wheel looks like, . I do believe the wheels on the S10 trucks were silver and black like my picture, but the same wheels that came on my blazer were black and silver like yours. I believe they could either be off of a early 80's malibu/elcamino or they are from an S10 blazer.

    5.3 Vortec Swap

I believe the only thing needed to bolt up any older transmission is a flywheel/flexplate spacer. Make sure it has the proper bolts like this one form Jegs. Here is a link to the spacer sold by Jegs; http://www.jegs.com/p/GM-Performance/GM ... 3/10002/-1

    Rim/Tire help and advice needed

Not gonna happen without notching the frame rail. I had a picture of my wheels which are a 15x7 with a 235/75R15 on them with a 4 1/2 inch backspace. They are very close to the frame rail. I can't find the pictures at the moment, there are plenty of wheel threads on here. Do a search you will...
