BUICK 1964 Skylark Coupe Project

Joe, if all goes well on the oncologist front amd they ok a trip I plan to roll through PA on the way to New England around the 13th or 14th of Sept. Haven't decided yet between the yukon or a mustang as a road vehicle either.

That said, if this guy has anything you need, I'm also going to be passing through his neck of the woods on a trip to Atlanta and back before then. I might be able to arrange to haul some stuff closer to you.

We Usually roll up 81 on the route we take, so, it'd be within a couple of hours of you. Looks like he's got a lot of trim too, who knows what else.

Thanks for the generous offer and good luck with the oncologist. If he has the halo trim, I could absolutely use it. If the fenders spear trim pieces are half decent,I'd take those too.

60 year old decent parts don't grow on trees, amd, between shipping rates and manhandled I can imagine it might wind up frustrating and expensive to handle some parts of the project. Figured I'd offer to help if it could.

It appears the guy stripped a wagon as he said it had the vista roof type top with all the small windows,.not sure if buick used the same marketing name on it as Olds did.

So, no halo unfortunately. Spear status unknown thus far.

No worries, I appreciate you looking into it and offering to pick up and haul parts.

Been working the past few days to strip the paint and rust from the trunk gutter area and rear fascia panel. I've used a combination of Harbor Freight SCT, 2 inch Roloc discs, stripping wheels, and sandblasting to get it to where it is. I still need clean some of the larger pits with a carbide burr but otherwise it is just about ready to prime.

Might be a bit late on that, It looks like the rabbit may have already been evicted and Joe is planning to move in.

Nah, Joe decided the rabbit's hole wasn't deep enough 😉

Too bad it didn't work out.

Back on other boards I was on with much larger vehicles than g-bodies it was never economical to ship much long distances.

These days, with freight prices through the roof for the average guy (companies underbill the big guys and then make it up on the small guys, even more so than just the elevated rates considering we bring our shipments to their counters while companies demand pickups) even midsized cars are getting too pricey to move stuff around, when you can find it.

Whelp, on those other board a group of the longstanding members would post up or otherwise offer to haul things along in their empty space - as much as even moving whole vehicles when a trailer was empty part of the ride.

I figured with how things are, maybe it's time for a limited degree of bring some of that to our community.
