not sure what pitman arm would work with the lares 1353 .they only list one pitman arm for my application it looks to be a factory replacement

did some research and talked with rep from lares they told me thier #972 10:1 quick ratio has the correct flare fittings for my power steering pump(from the74 toronado 455) and although its a 4 bolt pattern it will bolt right up to my 80 cutlass(which is the 3 bolt pattern)if this is correct i will return the 1353.its considerably more money but i think worth it.and no adapter fittings to mess with .and according to the rep the pitman arm will interchange.

finally got my steering box woes figured out and one step closer to dropping the motor in .settled on the lares 974 quick ratio, proper output shaft to accept jeep upgraded shaft ,and the inverted flares for my old school power steering pump.

I installed the jeep steering shaft that i got from crown auto part #4713943 .it wasn't no ten minute job that i have heard guys describing .the shaft comes 5 inches longer than a standard gbody shaft right out of the box .there was no compressing it by hand so i did have to use a torch on it to soften it up and then it did slide in and out(still nice and firm with no play)tapped the steering box side on and bolted it ,then tapped the other end on and marked the column shaft to be ground out for the pinch bolt.all in all not too bad took just under an hour.of course you all know ,gotta find the torch and the tools and a couple trips back and forth to the house !!.cant wait to drop the motor in !

one more step closer. nothing easy about getting this motor in but we got it done. lots more to do. not sure what valve covers guys are using on this swap but my taller mondello ones definitely have clearance issues with the ac box.
