looks good man... I feel you on the heat I'm at Ft. Hood and drive a black Monte SS and Im also leaning toward a lighter color. How much did that HOK paint run you???

okay guys so it has been a couple of months since i last updated. i actaully since august i have done some stuff but pretty much my education takes ALOT of my time... who would have thought you actually need to study to do good lol..

But in between every little chance i get i try to work on the El camino. So i took the front windshield out and removed all of the old gasket, RTV silicone, Urethane Cualk ... you name it , it had it And even with all that the windshield still dont hold up with leaks and only partially still bonded to the car, so taking it out took less than 1 minute.

then i mounted the fenders to the car. the driver side mounted beautifully everything lines up have alot of room to play with as far as adjusting ...

BUT the passenger side has been giving me hell and i need some input from you guys. it seems like the right passenger side is higher and i cant install the fender properly. i cant get it to line up with the door, and when i do the front side of the fender sits lower so i have to pry it up onto the core support and well that creates a problem cause now the fender line opens up on the bottom the door and then the core support doesnt line up. i have to push very hard to maybe get it close enough. If i do it the other way around first, i cant push the fender in far enough towards the door. i have tried tightening down the core support bushings to compress it and bring it down but nothing. the whole front end is loose for adjustment but even then it doesnt work. the only thing i can think of isi installed the new core support bushings backwards or maybe i need to slot the hole for the core support on the frame to have more adjusmtent. any suggestions?? i will try to load a pic as soon as i can.

also i started dissaembling the rear bumper o install the fiberglass one that LSCustom provided.

and another reason i havent done much is we have a new vehicle to add to the G-Body forum. I purchased this 1987 Monte Carlo SS along with another friend to fix and resell for a nice profit. all orginal says 79k miles and i believe it cause the car has zero rust and the car runs like a brand new car. purrs like a kitten but will light up the tires, confirmed 😀 . It ran just needed a new paint job, alignment, and wheel drum cylinder. Well as i we were prepping the car for paint i came up with the idea that we should paint the car and give this as a gift to my brother is one of the most hard working people you will ever meet. always willing to fix anything electrical for us and we can always depend on him for anything. well my friend agreed and thought it was a great idea. so we had three weeks to make the deadline for christmas eve. we spent nights and weekends getting ready for paint. now keep in mind the car had little to no dents biggest problem area was the hood.

so this was a quick scuff and paint. we could always come back later during the spring or summer to do a really nice paint job. the car was already primered and prepped so that helped us out alot. only thing to do was take care of the little rock chips with some spot putty.

now we had to paint the car in stages because we had a small air compressor. so you can see here we have part of it painted and parts still waiting.

now it didnt come out perfect but see my bros face when we told him it was his, it obviously didnt matter cause he just couldnt beleive he just got this awesome Monte Carlo SS for christmas. He has 74 nova but we just knew he wouldnt never be able to finish it or get it painted with the little time he has with family and kids so it was another reason we did this for him.

and here it is painted completley

and only thing left to do is cut and buff and will shine really really nice. That Deep maroon is a nice color in the sun.
so we will probably do that this weekend before my classes start up again and i wont have time to do it anymore.

Thanks LS apprecaite the comments. i was looking at your build thread earlier and was really digging the dash cause it looks like its wrapped in leather. and i like the how the area where the ac controls go was brought out at an angle. keep up the good work.
