Thank you all for the kind words. The car didn't look bad until I got into it farther. It started out with a little rust around the window trim, and turned into the rotisserie build in the photos. I just didn't want to patch it back together like the last guy before me. I had doors and floors bought for years due to rust problems, but never anticipated the problems with rust we would find later in the build. A lot of the underside sheet metal had to be built from scratch, and the window frame area was not a fun fix either. I can't wait to get the motor next month from BTR Bill. I will post new pics as soon as I get the chance.

Found some more pics that were hiding in our camera from the day we brought the car back from the body shop. Was about 7 degrees out and was trying to snow. I can't wait to get it out into the sun this summer. Hopefully I will have the motor in it and the height adjusted with all of the weight back in it. It's still a rolling shell at this point of the photos so I apologize for the terrible stance of the car. I will try to post interior pics as soon as I take the time to shoot some. Thanks for looking.

Gorgeous! I am thinking a similar paint job on my cutlass, but the black will break from the silver at the fender body line instead of the lower portion like the original. Front totally blacked out, trunk lid silver, rear bumper black.

Thanks LSX Vigilante---- The hood is from Unlimited Performance Products. (UP22.Com) It is a bolt-on 3-1/2" cowl hood.
It was supposed to weigh 33 pounds and probably did at one point. It was also supposed to be bolt-on ready. (No extra work needed!) Take it from me, it needed a lot of work. I spent roughly 300 hours on it after I got it to make it fit the car. I did not want hood pins and the thing wanted to fly off the car when you drove it. A lot of cutting and grinding along with 2 stage epoxy and fiberglass mesh is what it took to fix it along with a lot of aluminum 1"x1" square tubing. The thing probably weighs close to 90 pounds now. No weight savings here, but it does look very cool from inside the car.

Thanks GT 80. I have really become fond of the 2 tone paint jobs that break at the fender body line. That will look good on your car for sure. The more black the better in my opinion. The blacked out front will look good too. Good luck!

Thanks for the info - I have seen that hood. I am wanting a 3" cowl for my '83 H/O and I really like the look you have. Hood is proportionate to the other lines of the car. I am not fond of the work it required for you to make it fit however. Great job :)
