Re: 1984 Cutlass Calais / BBO 455 build thread

Hey, will a driveshaft from a th200r4/7.5 car work with my th400/7.5 setup? Or will I just have to have mine shortened? I would rather not spend the couple hundred if I don't have to...

Re: 1984 Cutlass Calais / BBO 455 build thread

hope this helps, as you see the mounting pads are almost the same location ... assuming you have the short 4" tail ...the th400 is STILL like 3/4" longer than the 200-4r .... driveshaft for a 200-4r/8.5" car would probably work since it's an inch shorter

The driveshafts from M200/TH350/200-4R cars are all the same length.
You'll need to have approx. 1/2" to 3/4" cut out of yours to accomodate the TH400.

I had mine cut and balanced for $90.

Hey, quick question. Is that oil pan baffle above the pickup stock on all 455's??

On Toronado 455's at least, I don't know about the models that did not use the deep pan.

Re: 1984 Cutlass Calais / BBO 455 build thread UPDATE PICS

Well guys it's been a while since my last update. I finally got the engine compartment cleaned up the 455 in and most things buttoned up. Right now my biggest challenge is getting the front brackets shimmed and mounted.
