Quick fYi. Just picked up an aluminum WP from Advance Auto for 35 bucks, 100% new. Saves a little weight up front, looks good, and cools better.

88Cutdogg This might be helpful if you haven't already checked it out. www.robertpowersmotorsports.com Still tuneing before his car was stolen Bob ran a best of 12.3 at 110mph in as you drive it trim and had gotten over 15 mpg hwy with the Olds 455/200-4R working lock up converter & Q-jet.

Has anyone done this swap using the log type or tubular looking factory exhaust manifolds? Got my BBO in but looks like manifolds point too much towards the frame.

As far as your manifolds go, get some W-Z manifolds they are a better fit, better performance, well worth the money. You can get a set on Ebay, brand new, for $250, and Torque Tech makes a manifold back system. The system is good, but not perfect, I had to do some cutting and "fanageling" and welding to make it fit right. You can see that in some of tonight's photos.

Got the aluminum radiator in, transmission lines run, and external cooler installed . . .

You can see the cuts and welds to get the driverside down pipe around the front suspension.

And my mufflers, well at least they're called mufflers :twisted: . . .

We would have finished the exhaust that night, except the mutha f^@kin welder ran out of wire! And wouldn't ya know it, the replacement spool is not at the shop :blam: So that is the extent of the exhaust for now . . .

So we got bored and started piecing together the dash and interior . . .

Also got the tires fitted. They are a 275-60-15 on a 15x8 Olds SSII, 4-1/4" backspace with a 1/4" spacer.
They fit perfect, no rub, and fill out the wheel wells nicely.

Necessary. I needed a 4" backspace, but Wheel Vintiques could only build me a maximum of 4-1/4". I figure a 1/4" spacer is acceptable, though.
