How tall of a slick will fit without rubbing. I dont mind cutting it open a bit just dont want to notch the frame.

I need all the help I can get. lmao

What backspacing should I be looking for for a 26x10.5 slick with a 10" bite. 15x10 rims. I'm just afraid ill find some cheap get em n they will rub the frame

if you look up "Shotgun" on this forum, he uses 30x9 slicks on his drag Cutlass, which runs 10s
... that's about the tallest I've heard, but not sure if he had to roll fender lip

a 28x9 should fit nicely, without any rolling/notching... You can attempt wider than 9" at your own risk

how wide is the Ford 9inch in your car? If it is a couple inches wider than a Gbody 10bolt, you could likely use more backspacing and a wider tire

here is a 27x10 slick mounted on 8" wheels...

you can see they bulge out quite a lot. If it was a taller tire, it would be more comfortable on a 8" wheel
... so I think a 26" tall tire would be even worse

I think you'll be okay with a 10" wide wheel with 3.5" to 4" backspacing, MAYBE 4.5", but it will likely stick out past the fenders. At 26" they'll be short so hopefully they won't rub on the fender lip... but that depends how much your suspension bottoms out

one more option is to look for old Turbine wheels, which were often 8.5" wide

have you already bought these slicks? Have you considered 26x9 or 26x9.5 slicks?

I got them for 100$ used with 5 runs on em couldn't pass it up. Would an 8" wheel kill my traction

I run a 26x10.5 ET street and it fits with no problem. I would like to get 28x10.5 but they were free so I can't complain. They are on 8 inch rims..

I would say not more than 4inch backspacing...
and Blue86Monte says he is running his 26x10.5 slicks on 8" wheels... so that should be an easy find.

any old Corvette Rally wheel, and maybe even some old Corvette Alloys... most had 4" backspacing.

Passed up a set of weld pro stars 15x10 3.5" backspacing today. For 50$ sad day I was told 3.5 isn't enough backspacing
