If your going to do it, put a full cage in. It's a race car, it will make it ridged, If you later go bigger it's there, more sell-able, and more protection.

Also do what you think you will need and do it once. An 8 point roll bar (without halo regardless if they call it a cage) is most likely 1 3/4" tube. A 10 point cage can be 1 5/8". So if you do a bar and then try to add on later, you will have multiple size tubing.

I ended up ordering the 10 point cage. I had a $25 off $250 promo code and I ended up paying 269.98 shipped. We’ll see how it fits soon, it will be here Monday. Im still a ways off from getting it in but I’ll keep everybody updated. I also ordered my fuel system and the rear seat cross member.

I got the cage through jegs. It’s a Allstar cage, they are pretty well known with the circle track guys around here as a good priced friendly metric chassis cage. We’ll see how their drag cage is soon.
