Got the floors painted with Por-15 today. It came out great aside form me getting covered in it 😂. I have the run a rear break line and swap out the engine harness then I can get the frame under it and start the roll cage.

Have fun getting that sh*t off!!!! I learned real quick when painting POR15 to wear a full tyvek suit with hood, respirator, safety glasses and gloves! I left my brother n laws house one night not knowing I had spots on my face(looked as if I'd been huffing paint). Stopped at a gas station around 3am and couldn't figure it out why people were giving me odd looks lmao!!!! Got home and looked on the mirror and just laughed!

Got the body back to the frame, it finally looks like a car again!!! Plus I got a bay back to work on my other hot rods. Everything lined up pretty dang good for this not being the original body and all the welding I did on the frame and replacing body mount supports. I have a seat mocked up but it’s a off road suspension seat. Does anyone know if that seat will pass tech if mounted correctly?

Finally got around to starting the cage last weekend. It’s going to fit nice and tight. I’m just going to take my time and get everything in just the way I like it. Hopefully I’ll be able to get most of the main structure tacked in this weekend.

Great work but is there any reason you didn't go behind the dash??

The way the kit was designed they gave you a little extra to work with but not enough to go behind the dash. The bar would have fell right in the middle of the dash. I’m glad I test fitted everything before I pulled the dash because that was my plan. I guess it’s a little bit of laziness on my part as well. I could have removed the dash and bent up some new bars with the tubing bender at work. I would have had to order more 1 5/8 X .135 pipe it’s an odd size and the local steel shop doesn’t stock it.
