I guess I am car 116. Any other 2+2 cars out there that can take a pic of their trunklid?

Someone needs to create a directory where we can keep track of these 2+2s locations...lol

Well I bought another 2+2 off a guy that has 2 and wanted to sell the parts one... So I will take pics of those two to see what the numbers are. The 2 pics in this thread have different numbers, but I am suspicious if they really are build numbers.( they are pretty clost in numbers)

Will see when I go pick up the other parts car (at least 2 weeks from now)

Every original 2+2 I've seen has the blacked out area between the door and quarter windows. This is one thing I think really makes them look better compared to the Monte Aerocoupes as it makes the back window look like less of an afterthought. I know someone locally with a 2+2 and IIRC the area is just painted.

Yeah it's the only one that IMO has a window that looks like it was designed from the get go. The Monte just looks like they layed a window on top of the trunk lid...lol

Just to clear up some loose ends. Went and picked up the 2nd 2+2 today. The guy I bought it off has a 2+2 of his own. Here are the trunklids:

I really suspect these are date codes, not the build sequence. I don't know the odds of finding 4 cars that close in sequence number is, but likely very very high. I bet the first 1 is for the first year, the second 2 digits are for weeks. So the first pic above was built in the 11th week.

Also, the car I bought had black around the window. It is painted on.

Another thing, the guys good 2+2 does not have rounded corners at the top of the rear glass like every other 2+2. I think these cars are full of one-offs, each one is a little different. If you look at the trunk pics I posted above the parts car has another bracket around the trunk latch that the other cars don't> The bracket slides through 2 holes in the fiberglass that look factory made, not just cut in there...

Can you not see the pics at all, or just not on your phone?

I work for the aforementioned company and they have that picture hosting site blocked via a proxy server. My phone could see the pictures but I wouldn't try looking at those on a 2in screen. Hahaha.

Edit: Let me know if you plan to sell either of those cars' noses and how much.
