My 86' Regal project has a good running all stock 307 with a 200r4 trans and stock rear gear and the only thing I added so far (engine wise) is a factory replacement 442 exhaust system and I also gutted the catalytic.
Since I bought this without a test drive I have only driven it about a mile after it was delivered by the owner last year and I am wondering what kind of gas mileage these are capable of.

what ratio is the rear end, I suspect it's a 2.41 or something in that range so on the highway I think you'll get around 24 mpg and in the city it'll should be around 15 mpg...

What does age have to do with it? Nothing if the motor was just pulled and completely gone through, all new lines were put in, carb rebuilt, new everything,,,, or else you have 30 years of sludge built up in there... partially clogged injectors, etc.

I am not concerned with the age of the 307 it runs well and I was just curious what kind of mileage people were getting with their stock setup with the swirl port heads.

My tired, abused, and neglected 87 307 got 15ish pretty consistently in town or on the highway. Mind you, with 150k on it and little to no maintenance for over a decade before I got it, that isn't bad. Its even better when I tell you I was a teenager driving the car like a teenager, always WOT. That was a 200c with 2.14 gears.
