Yeah, spring loaded. It is self assisted when closing once it gets past a certain point I guess you could say. Yes it stays up in place. It's a super cheap nice upgrade.
Really, funny how you don't notice the little things drove a 81 Delta 88 for years. I may have to swipe one. Why did they do the bear trap design only on the G body?
Lawsuit? that doesnt sound real good. I can only imagine if they were already producing them for other models of cars it wouldnt save much money making a different one for the Gbodys probably so little old ladies wouldnt leave the plate down after a fill up would be my guess
Yesterday was a big day, started painting the engine and accessory parts. My son did the exhaust manifolds and i have to say he did a killer job. Will have to wait until its finished to post pictures however i will say the effect of this paint on the engine makes a huge difference to when it was in a truck. If i stood back without the injection pump on it i would swear it was a gas engine built for the drag strip. Pictures to come after i get off work and finish the paint, however here is a good before shot.
Let me know what you guys think. I'm going t9 have to fix the paint a little, the POR15 engine paint is kind of a bear to brush on. Really needs sprayed
