i noticed your using the same turbo headers i am..i just had to cut 3" off each side so i can fit the s475 turbo. Buying a tig welder was one of the best investments i made as well.

It really is the best thing for a job that's custom like these are. And I was planning on having to do the same cutting on mine when I put the turbo in as well lol. Nothing I can't handle now tho. Gonna get 2 o2 sensors and bungs for the headers as well.

Just curious, what kind of TIG welder did you buy? I just read through your entire thread, you've put a lot of time, money and work into this build. It's looking good. Keep at it. You'll be on the road soon hopefully!

Thanks bro. I have put a lot of money and time doing work and research lol. The welder is a Eastwood 200amp ac/DC. Go to eastwood.com. It's a great welder for the price to start out with especially if you want to weld aluminum too. It's great for aluminum ive been doing work on our walking floor trailers at work for my boss and I've made back half what I paid for the welder already. Good investment.

When I finally am able to spare the money for a TIG welder, I definitely want an AC/DC machine. I don't really see myself doing a lot of aluminum welding but I want the ability to do it just in case.

Deffinitly go with the ac/dc. My buddy talked me into because I didnt think I would ever use it much. Boy was I wrong lol

I finally got around to getting the antenna base out of the fender so I decided I would go ahead and try some bodywork with the tig welder on this great sunday. I wasnt planning on having a radio anyway lol. Turned out pretty good I would say, will need a little bit of bondo from where there was a dip in the fender at the antenna base. I probably could have fixed it but figured it was such a slight imperfection that there wasnt any need to do it and bondo would do the job for me.

Fellas, I ordered a bunch of materials that should be here tomorrow or wednesday. Got some stainless steel exhaust tubing coming, stainless concentric adapters a couple different sizes, v band assembly and a flex joint. This week I am going to invest in a dual flow regulator for my tig welder so I can back purge the exhaust pipe as im welding it. From the info I've found on any stainless pipe it is strongly recommended. It keeps the weld nice and clean and keeps the chromium that's added to stainless from interfering with the weld puddle and making it weak. Also got my gas lense kit in last week for my tig torch which is a must for any stainless work. Going to take my time with this so it is done right and I only have to do it once, instead of half assing it now and doing it over later. You guys be looking for some pictures soon from me. As always thanks for following along! Also if you have any tips on helping me with this project to make it easier for me I'm all ears, well eyes lol.
