i have a chance to get a 200-4r with converter for $450 w/shipping. it's a 4BQ trans and a CB90 8639265 converter. am i correct in that this is a GN trans and high stall converter?
i'm used to the BRF and D5 designations.
thanks for the help.

yep,84-85 gn.

any lesser/worse than a later one? i seem to recall a bunch of power upgrades in later years and my engine has about 450tq. is it worth the price? it came out of a parts car with relatively low miles. thanks for the help.

either way you look at it the deal is good for a working trans with the right factory parts but it will still need a re-build to handle any amount of power.

Just because it's out of a GN it's only a small margin better than a stock 200R4 and I don't think it will like the 450tq # you are throwing at it

hell, let me try this. anyone near connecticut want a trans? i mostly just want the converter. then when i break my trans (the idiot before me put in a POS low level buick instead of the stock SS) i'll just go to CK or bowtie.
thanks for your help guys!
