The engine is out, and gonna add some power so I want to throw a shift kit in the trans while it is out. I am looking for a nice solid, quick shift, but not something that will break the trans.

Thinking about this one... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-200-4R-HD2/ but not sure.

I don't really have an answer for you but I do share the same question so I'll be waiting for replies too. Here is the link to an eBay seller that is about an hour away from me. They have a TON of 200-4R items available. You might contact them for their input and see what they recommend. If you do, post up their advice.

I've always heard that Trans-go is the kit of choice for the 200-4R. But I'm sure various transmission builders use their own concoction of parts and mods to achieve good firm shifts.

Ordered the TransGo kit last night after some more research. Seems to be one of the best out there 8)

I'd highly recommend a Trans-go shift kit. I have one in my mildly tuned 350 and i can bark the tires up thru 3rd. It helps the 1/4 mile time too, not to mention it cuts down on shifting friction which hopefully in return should prolong the life of the transmission.

IMO ckperformance has the best shift kit on the market for the 200-4R. Not only do they have a hard wot shift as do many but they also have a crisp not harsh part throttle shift. Transgo has a good shift kit also. Crash do you have a quality aftermarket higher stall converter?

I have never heard a bad thing about the TransGo products. I have also never heard anything bad about the B&M ones. But the TransGo ones are cheaper, and that's what all the transmission shops around here use. So I think it's safe to say you made a good choice.

Gonna use the stocker for now, but will likely get a higher stall converter over the winter.

i am not a big fan of b&m, i got a b&m rebuild kit for my 700r4 i had, i did everything right i got the casting numbers and so forth for the right years, the kit was missing a bunch of clutchs and seals and so forth so i said the heck with it, and i did a b&m shift kit on a 350 trans and it didnt work worth a crap but that could be part of the fact that 3 bolts stipped in the valve body and i said screw it haha  i have had 2 200r4s both with transgo shift kits, i liked transgo alot but i agree ckperformance is good, never used them except for a governer but i have heard nothing but good about them.
