I have owned 3 200r4's and have never seen one that is not dual pattern.

Th350 came bop or chev and th350c had dual pattern.

We have 2 and both are the same pattern as posted 565's pic. I thought all were like that as 81cutlass mentioned.

neither one is any better get which ever one fits your motor
Not necessarily better but I would rather have the option to run either a BOP or Chevy than be limited later if I decide I want to go a different route and not need an adapter to do it.

Thanks - I got my trans today. Its a core and it will be rebuilt as new with some upgrades. A few weeks based on his schedule and hopefully in a month I'll have a new trans with overdrive. I'll save the current trans pulled from an '84 monte carlo ( TH350) incase some one wants one in the future for a restore. Making progress.

The TH350 in my 70S was dual pattern.

From my own experiences, only the early 200 4r transmissions had BOP or Chevrolet only bell housings. In all my years around these cars I have only seen one that wasn't dual pattern and it was a BOP pattern All the later ones had the dual pattern. I personally would be hesitant to start with one that was single pattern knowing that it is an early one and does not have a lot of the factory upgrades that were made over the years.

All 2004rs have the dual pattern and No removable tailshaft. they never made a chevy bolt pattern only , or a BOP only pattern.
