One third the cost of a new HC:

that would be more than $27,000 C and I'm pretty sure it would not cost me anywhere close to that much to build something with more power......

or buy one with more power....

I wasn't suggesting that it was a good deal. I was saying buying the whole car was, and that is a deal you cannot beat dollar for dollar.

I realized that, did you notice in the ad the engine is intended for use in pre 1976 cars and offroad...

Nothing quite like pulling out perfectly good oil (88% life left) to replace it with more perfectly good oil. This OCI represents 1550kms to 4801kms (~3250kms or 2000 miles) and a full season of racing (3 trips to the drag strip and a bunch of autocross events).

Back at the time the factory fill came out I turned the OEM drain plug into a magnetic one. The lack of debris is very promising, and this should provide a good reference for the next oil change.

The modified eBay catch can seems to be doing its job. 15mL over such a short period proves it is both required and effective. I compression brake the sh*t out of this car - it's a manual after all.

And I am not paying the dealership for fluids or filters. I don't appreciate being held over a barrel due "proprietary" specifications. There are options/better products on the market.

Ribbedroof - that envelope look familiar? Thanks for the lock pawls for the wagon!
