FWIW Brown Lee Ford in TN is selling new, financable, 700hp mustangs with factory warranty in place for $40k.

There's a bunch of reasons to buy a new vette. $/hp isn't one of them.

I saw this, it's a hell of a deal. And some might call me biased (I don't really think I am) but I'd rather drive a new Ford (or even a new FCA) than a new Chevy.

I've got a last-year 197 and a 550. I think way more guys would have one if they went in with an open mind - mine happened after renting a 13 for a week.

Now, with the next iteration of these things, maybe someone else will catch up or pull ahead. I really liked the challenger, but, overcompensated by making the metal too thin and dent prone, glue too strong, plus, the electronics at the time had bad press. Hard to drop 30k or more on a car that dents itself when parked at night.

Used coyote gt 197s are pulling in the teens decently loaded with relatively low miles... and that's 460hp itself.

I'd buy a new Mustang over any of the junk GM makes nowadays and I'm not a 'Ford guy' and I don't even like Mustangs....

Well thankfully I'm not buying a new Mustang or any new GM which most likely has a recall list a mile longer than that one....😄
