Personally4 SPD 3.73 don't need first gear much that's another story. But yes very fun. Long trip trailer.
Automatic 3.42 .Joe Walsh may be an Analog Man, I'm an Overdrive Man.
That's my personal choice . But if a lot of highway and still performance . 3.08 whatcha think Texas.Personally

3.08 or 3.42 would be ok with a 3 speed. 3,73 is too beaucoup.

28" tall tires with 3.73's gives about the same effective gear ratio as 3.42's and 26" tires. not exactly but close.
OD and taller tires makes 3,73's livable in 2017, and not make it feel like its still the 1960's when super fast cars ran 13's and gas cost 27 cents/gallon.
On the street there is nearly zero difference in rear gear acceleration numbers. 3.73's are more prone to spin street tires and 3.20's gears with a 2500 stall would probably be quicker with a lower revving "torque" motor and would definitely provide better gas mileage on the highway, but the 3.73's will "feel" quicker.
