305 HAS NOW POWER!!! & KILLED 1/2 A TANK OF GAS IN 10 MIN

SO MY 305 HAS BEEN SPILLING ALOT OF OIL AT LEAST 2 QT A DAY I THINK IT MIGHT BE OUT OF OIL IS THAT WHY IT HAS NO POWER???? IT WONT EVEN GO 25MPH ITS NOT OVER HEATING OR ANYTHING AND ITS KILLING ALOT I MEAN ALOOOOOOOT OF GAS HALF A TANK LIKE IN 10 MINS AND IT HAS NO POWER I HIT THE GAS ALL THE WAY AND IT WANTS TO STALL OR WONT GO ANYWHERE SOME ONE HELP ME IDK WHERE ITS SPILLING OIL I HAVE A LATE MODEL 305 DO THESE HAVE A 2 PIECE EAR MAIN SEAL???? ITS SPILLNG OIL FROM SOME WHERE CLOSE TO THE STARTER BE CAUSE ITS DRIPPING FROM THERE JUST CHANGED VALVE COVER GASKETS AND REAR MAIN SEAL THE 1 PIECE HELP ME ASAP PLEASE ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!!! WHERE COULD IT BE SPILLING OIL AND IS THAT THE REASON I HAVE NO POWER

sounds like a rear main leak as far as the oil goes but your othe prob sounds like carb problems is it smoking? iwill it idle? does it ping or knock? how many miles on it? 305s were bad about eating camshafts if it is the stock one need mo info to try and help need to know approx what year the motor is to know if it has a 1 or 2 pce rear main

IDK THE YEAR BUT THEY SAID ITS A NEW ONE IT HAS THE VALVE COVER BOLTS ON THE TOP OF THE COVERS AND I JUST HAD MY CAR REBUILT IDLES FINE STARTS UP AT THE FIRST TURN NO KNOCKING OR PING THX GOD AND YEAH ITS SMOKING BECAUSE THE OIL IS HITTING THE CAT AND IT HAS 100K MILE ON THAT ENGINE

LOL MAYBE IT IS AND I AM MAD AT HER I TREAT HER GOOD AND SHE DOES ME WRONG SHES WORSE THAN MY EX I JUST BOUGHT HER A NEW transmission NEW PAINT WHEELS OIL CHANGE AIRFILTER SPARK PLUGS DIFFERENTIAL BRAKES ROTORS SWAY BAR LINKS HAD CARB REBUILT AND THIS IS HOW THE sl*t TREATS ME LMAO :x

well sounds like it has either lost a lobe off the cam,or has some timing issues like a bad chain or gear or a problem at the dist that is were i would start.as far as the oil leak i would say its the rear seal,oil pan gasket,or check your oil sending unit on the back of the block on top underneith the dist , and worst case it could be an oil gally plug on the back of the bloch behind the flywheel.... :shock:

well if its been running out of oil it mey not be a bad idea chevys a cheep to rebuild what kind of oil pressure does it hold when its cold and when its hot?

DUDE I DONT EVEN THINK MY GAUGE WORKS LOL HAHAHA HOW MUCH DOES A REBUILD USUALLY GO FOR???

THE GAUGE STAYS ON THE 30 MARK IN BETWEEN WHEN ITS OFF AND WHEN I RUN IT IT SHIFTS FRO 30 TO 60
