I broke a no slip at the track with slicks then exploded the open spider gears on the street, took out the pinion with a 8 to 1 403 that ran a lousy 9.7 in the 1/8. The Yukon replacement open spider gears held up to a 9.4 in the 1/8 with the 350 on slicks. Any serious power is gamble on these spindly 7.5's. A girdle cover doesn't stop exploding pinion gears, mine didn't.

Mark doesn't head to the track, he heads to the boat launch pad..... :giggle:

My wagon was equipped with a 455, TH400, and 7.5" with 3.73s before I ruined it - think the PO got it to run mid-14s.

Send it.

A better place to go anyways! My Cutlass also went there many times. I can hardly wait for the looks come spring backing up our Go Green 2017 Dodge Challenger GT at the boat launch, planning on a Lund Fury tiller. AWD is super nice due to algae on the concrete or neccessary with our local gravel launch.

Does FCA pay you every time you mention that Challenger in a post?

No, I just like it that much. I would use the Olds for towing the boat but rwd means a big spin out in the launch mid summer and heating issues from the extra load. I hope his 7.5" holds out, it really depends how much he spins on the launch and the strength of the tiny Gov Lock spider gears.

Buick trusted the 7.5 so much that they didn’t use it behind a 245hp V6. Olds trusted it to much less hp. Pontiac and Chevy didn’t need it.

it did indeed have an 067 cam in it.
Thanks Jim, nothing like firsthand knowledge. I had InjectedCutty check out his Hollander's at work and he said the 067 was used too. That is actually a pretty good cam for a 350 or 400 but in a 455 it gets lost in the cubes. Mine was in a '76 Bonneville land yacht.

I agree 100%. An 067 is good for a mild 350/400 but a 455 should have at least an 068. BTW mine came from a 75 GrandVille convertible.
