Besides the Grand Prix 2+2 Areocoupe, the 78' GP's are the best.

Also in my opinion, about all of the 78' model G-Bodys are the best of the G series.I guess it's because I fill that most of the best options for the G's were optioned in 78'.

Nice car !

Thanks. I can't wait til I finally get the engine back in it either. It seems like the Pontiacs are more likely to come with buckets & consoles than everything else too. The plain-jane Regals, Malibus, Montes & Cutlasses are harder to find without a bench seat in it.

The funny thing is that I absolutely hated the 78-80 GP's when I was in high school. I actually really like this car now because you rarely see them.

The 78 is closer in style to the early 70's than my 86 is. had a 74 GP and the stying on that front end was awesome. I like the 78 with the wheel opens flared unlike my 86 that have no flare.

X3! I always loved all the little details, like how they make it look like theres stitching in the plastic, and definitely the GP gauge cluster.

I'm 42,but I can remember back ,say early 1980's a couple that lived doen the road from my parents who had the best looking 78' GP,bucket seats and Pontiac rallies.Wow was that the best looking car.
Oh.... his wife always made it look better when she was driving it 🙂

Forgot to mention.
My best friends parents had a 78 or 79 GP with all the bells and whistle's including the c.b. radio that worked.I guess they sold that car sometime in the mid 80's.It was the silver/black scheme that Pontiac put on the GP's.

I had an '81 Malibu wagon that came with a C.B.

I'll be 37 before long and I've never seen a 78-80 GP in silver/black until I bought my car. I only remember seeing a handful of the 78-80's back in the early 90's.
