Since it's getting colder the frame work is on hold for now since I don't feel like laying on the garage floor. I'll be focusing on detail work until the spring most likely. Here's more stripping and painting of grille brackets/clips/bolts. I'm sticking with the Pontiac blue paint on the bolts instead of the "metric" blue.
. any updates mr. I saw your cl had on powdercoating very cool . I just baught some polishing wheels but it doesn't look as good as those valve covers very nice job

Just been painting parts here and there. I figured it wasn't progress worth mentioning since it's just the same old sh*t over and over again.
As for that ad goes....I'm trying to scrape up some extra cash to stay afloat right now. Polishing is one of those "right tool for the right job" kinda things. A bench buffer is the only way to go! Along with the correct cutting and polishing compounds. This place has quite a bit of info/products too. http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/index.html
looking good! Glad your moving along nicely, a cold garage makes it hard to keep moving on especially if it's not insulated like mine. :? The heater just doesn't seem to keep up when the sun goes down 😀

I have a 80k BTU forced air propane heater and it does ok. We aren't even having winter-like weather here. It's been in the 40's. I just fear once it gets cold we won't see warm weather until May.
I haven't updated this thread in about a month because I've been playing with some powder coating. Here's a color that I'm thinking about incorporating into the build. It's a top coat called Solar Rain, basically a derivative of black chrome. Here's a water neck that I coated compared to a polished aluminum valve cover. Keep in mind the water neck was chrome to begin with. The substrate makes or breaks this coating. It wouldn't come out as nice over a cast surface with imperfections. Here's a few pics with and w/o the flash to give you an idea how it looks.
Here's another powder I was experimenting with. This one is called Ultimate Chrome. I'm actually pretty happy with the color, gloss & shine. However, casting imperfections on the alternator case really show through and I'm not going to be using it. This would look really good on a finished surface.
