MALIBU 78 Malibu wagon.

Oh the joys of having a 78! Lol I always get the odd ball sh*t that doesn't work like everybody else. Lol I guess I'll have to swap in my tilt column I have later than. Ok swapping the intermediate shaft makes since because it didn't wanna go into play with the stock jeep arm. Well with no brakes and the car not running and a stupid down hill driveway got creative and hooked a tire to the front of my truck and eased it out the garage. Spent all day on scrubbing all day on the wagon and used the wife and my little helper to put it back in the garage. Hey man, you'll get things figured out. You have a dynamite looking wagon with a great body. So it's an oddball '78. It's unique. 😉 Anyone would want your wagon. It's a good find!

Aim for getting it back on the road and drivable. You could save all the radical mods later as you're driving and enjoying it.

That is the plan this is 100% stock motor home engine and stock 4l80e for now need to get it out and make sure it's not a dudd from the previous owner. Than ill setup for turbos and try that out. Than comes the build forged 496 and trans later

So I took some tape and put it on a elco column I have laying around and traced it out and played that over the jeep shaft I have here at the house and this is how much smaller it is than my shaft side. I don't ever see people changing this side but only grinding a bit outta of the steering column D shaped shaft. Do you guys think if I spent some time opening this up i could make it work with the d shap shaft?

I'm glad to see you trying this since I have two '78s. I planned on changing the column but I love the idea of simply making it work with a few mods. Good on you for stepping into the unknown and forging forward.
