Tucking in the bumpers on any 78-80 G makes a huge difference

If i tuck these tight enough, even possible notching of the grill/cutting out the downward 'swooping,' is it possible that i will not need the bunper fillers?

I found a set for the 80, however i just cannot justify an expense of $150 for something when i may be able to get around it..

A few options: the 82-84 Regal sedan or 82-83 wagon header would fit and line up with the 78-80 coupe hood. You'd have to fill a little on the fender curves. Or just the bezels from the 82-84 sedan or from an 81-83 coupe might be able to be integrated into your header. (I wouldn't cut your 80 header, though, too hard to find a good one.)
If you tuck your bumper, I have Century bumper fillers that are much narrower than the Regal ones. I did something different on mine.

The OP no longer has a Regal and now has a 78' Malibu.
