81-88 Monte Carlo picture thread

My '85 CL w/T-Tops saved from the crusher. Bought from the original owner who already had it on the tow truck taking it to the yard. He damn near cried. Purchase price, and later a wrecked '86 parts car, with the cowl hood and a ton of smaller details all in all I'm still sitting around $1800 total wrapped up in this one. It's been an excellent budget build so far. Still a 4.3 car with a death rattle at high RPM but I got my eye on a 327/700r4 swap for it. Going to enjoy the hell out of this one. Oh yeah...and it will be Silver soon as well (way too much green for me lol) Enjoy.

Theres nothing like a clean Monte SS with a built drivetrain.Even if it has a Granny shifter 😀 seats 5 with 500hp...

this is my 85 monte. 62k original grandma miles. been my project for the past year. almost streetable again

looks much better without big rims haha. how low are you planning on going with it? you should just bag it.
 
i like those wheels. post up some pics. you think the 20s will handle well for pro touring?
