BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

Jack, I am hopeful. I have been praying my buddies shop becomes available so I can finish it up in there. But, I am gonna hump to get it done as if that is not going to happen.

By finish it up, I mean paint it in his booth. I do everything in my own shop, but a clean booth is nice.

Jim,
I've seen some of the amazing work you were able to accomplish in a short period of time.
You'll probably surprise us all. 😉

Small update. I managed to block out the body, and driver side doors and fender and lay a few coats of slick sand for final blocking when the body is assembled. With the color I am using I'll be painting the car together.

Then, I sanded the jambs, spayed sealer and color. I have to clear the pillars with some flattened clear to make the semi gloss, but I have to wait for the gloss clear to cure.

Still have to block the passenger side doors and fender and hood for the last coat of slick sand, the paint all the jambs so I can assemble the car for what should be the last time. Then, I can block it once more and paint. The weather may not be working with me though, it is quickly getting colder.

Jim,
It's good to see progress...looks great, man. I hope the weather holds out for a few more weeks.

Damn Jim!
Rockin' right along my friend. Progress looks great, keep up the pace and the great work!
Like Jack says, I hope the weather holds out for ya.
Keep the updates coming, as we're all living vicariously thru your progress!
🙂

Out of curiosity, what's the skinny on the drum set??
That's my ancient Ludwig. I play it when I have time, and during parties my buddies bring over their stuff and we jam.

Go the tailgate bolted up and aligned. I had to make some more tailgate hinge shims. But, it aligned up nice and closes easy. The tension rod was the hardest part.
