Made it to rohners yard today. They must not crush anything, ever. There was a bunch of junk there but there was some stuff that is worth grabbing mostly braces and stuff. I was hoping to get some F41 susp parts, but didnt find any cars with the F41 stuff. I found a nice aluminum hood, but it wasnt a 81-87 2 dr one so I didnt grab it. I think it might have been a 4 dr. It was worth the side trip, but if I were to come back Id bring a machetie (however its spelled) to cut out some of the bushes. I only spent 45 minutes there though. If i had more time Im sure id find something. Ill have to plan another trip in a few months.

Theres the first row of cutlasses and then the second row to the north on the south side. Its leaning aginst the side of a Cutlass 2 dr diesel. Blue in color. Clear as mud?

I cant believe i missed that 442! GRRR! Those pictures you took made that place look like you could acutally see where you are walking. I could only go halfway into that row with all the cutlasses because the grass was getting past my shoulders (and Im like 6ft).

Ever make it to the grand prix side? Theres actually 10 of them and a few were loaded with braces. I am suprised I saw a 60's camaro there. Probably 30 3rd gen firebirds too. Saw a 4 dr slope back cutlass though. Bunch of stuff ive never seen. Deffinitly a worth a trip back.

Clear enough... Being that it's already off the car, hopefully it won't be too tricky for me to figure out where it came from, so I can snag the hood hinges...

I was there in mid-april, so the brush wasn't so overgrown...

I hope to get back out there as soon as I can.

Solved the wheel isssue. Ended up getting 4 15X7 trans am wheels that look a lot like the GTA wheels. They are kinda dirty but they just need a good cleaning. Only have the rears on as I only have 2 tires for it but it really changed the look of the cutlass. Just need 2 more 225/60's and Ill be on good tires instead of the dry rotted 15+ year old 14's.

FWIW The gbodys that came with 15x7s used 215/65/15s. Many people upgrade them to 235/60/15s as they are the same height.

These were a steal though so it was almost stupid not to buy them. If I find a set of 235's cheep I'll stick them on the back and the 225's on the front. Thanks for that info though. I was wondering what tires were the same size.

Looks a little silly with 2 different style wheels on it but that problem should get solved shorty.

I am kinda at a decision making time right now. Any ideas on what the best investment is right now? Im kinda short on cash.

In no particular order:

A- Get new front seats. I am thinking buckets and a center council. Passenger seat is completly flat, and forces you into the door panel. Drivers side is better but uncomfortable.

B- F41 suspension parts. Springs and front and rear swaybars. The springs that are on it are the stock V6 springs and are super soft. Car leans to the right a little. When I take a turn quick I feel like the car is going to flip.

C- New body bushings. Ones that are on it are squished and cracked.

D- Rebuild door stuff. Windows are kinda loose and rattle on the road. Window sweeps are all cracked. When ever it rains all the water goes into the door.

E- Get a radio hooked up. One that was in it doesnt work and doesnt look right.

Any other ideas?

Here's the order I would tackle them in...

1. Weatherstripping replacement/loose window regulators... No sense letting any potential problems get worse by letting water into the car, unless you keep it in a garage...

2. Rebuild/upgrade suspension... New springs may or may not be necessary, but new bushings and ball joints is definately a good idea. Replacing your steering components will also improve the over all feel of the car. Any factory improvement pieces are a good addition as well (i.e. braces and bigger sway bars).

3. A cheap cd player will help make cruising a little more enjoyable.

4. Replacing the body bushings is kind of/can turn into a big job, but is another key in making the car feel more like it is supposed to.

5. Seats I would do last. Chances are, you're still gonna be wrenching on the car for a while, and hop in it while you're still dirty. No sense doing that on your nice new/used seats.

I'm sure dozens of other small projects will jump up along the way... That's how it always seems to go... 😀
