Just read through the build so far, and gotta give you major kudos for having the perseverance to go this far on a car you know you'll be selling when it's done! you do great work for not having the machinery to make the patches, if you look at my thread, you'l see that I'm more of a "measure once, cut and weld twice" kind of hack! 😕

I got the feeling you plan to keep this car for a long time.🙂 You've certainly been putting an inordinate amount work into it. However, the work has been outstanding so far... I've been enjoying your thread so far.

I would love to keep this car when Im done but Im a huge camaro guy and have had a 72 camaro in the garage for almost 6 years that I do want to keep forever, but I keep distracting my self with other cars. So I made a promise to my self to focus on it next which means I need the funds.

Today I started to peel back the driver side. Its not as bad but its still pretty bad. You can see below the floor is pushed up around the rear seat area

Front body mount/torque box removed, I got a little impatiant and cut it in half to get it out then realized I had miss 1 spot weld, O well

And check out the Bondo thickness on the quarter

The rocker had a week to dry so today I welded it on with the bottom of the door pillar. I used the shops welder with a bottle so there would be less mess and the welds are just nicer.

And all ground down

Still a little bit more too clean up but im calling It done. I epoxied the wrong side of the rear part of the door/lower quarter so Ill have too paint it and weld it on when I do the quarter.

I'd Love to jet down to Florida especially when we start getting several feet of snow haha.

Today I peeled back more of the floor and braces, just repeatin what I did to the other side

Heres the naked brace. Would be kinda nice to have a new one but this will do just fine once its cleaned up with the sand blaster

EME . . . Joined the Forum to say Thank You!!! I have to make some of the same repairs to my own vehicle and the pics and info that you are posting serve as an INVALUABLE reference to myself and anyone else setting out to address these issues on a G-body, Keep up the great work! I look forward to following along the rest of your build. If this is the type of effort that you put into a beater that is going up for sale, I cannot imagine how nice your Camaro is going to turn out! Good luck as you move forward and THANK YOU again! Truly inspiring stuff.

So the other day I went on a little adventure. Drove 900km round trip to pick up a gem of a parts car right near Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. Started the day off with slamming my thumb in the door, then the trailer lights fell off thennnnn on the way back snow storm yay! And to top it all off I had a blow out on the trailer, a very Roadkill esk trip but I got myself a Mint frame for the cutty. Along with some other parts im going to use like the fuel tank, rad support maybe some interior parts and a posi rear end even tho its a series 2 with the same crappy 2.29 ratio.

The "gem" a 81 Buick century with 33xxx kms, undercoated and Krown oil sprayed since new

The "mint" for the east coast any way only a little surface rust and lots of thickness around the body mount hole behind the rear tires

The "fun"

Heres what is left from the build sheet it seems like a pretty well optioned car. Says 800 steering box, did all g-bodys have these

This is my first post in a while thanks for showing all of your progress. Hopefully you keep it for a while and continue the repairs. I bought a car that ends up needing some sheet metal work
